The Reading Club is an after school program offered at Burbank Elementary School on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4pm-5:30pm.
Students move through a series of stations that focus on 1-on-1 Reading, Creating Reading Exercises and Bible Story Time.
1-on-1 Reading Coaching
The goal of this station is to bring students up to the appropriate reading level for their grade by giving them one-on-one help with reading. We focus on repetition, pronunciation and comprehension as we work through books appropriate for their reading level.
Creative Reading Exercises
The goal of this station is for our students to have fun with reading, so we focus on exciting activities to help them engage with words and reading using all of their senses.
Bible Story Time
The goal of this station is to focus on comprehension and retention by teaching our students how much God loves them through the Jesus Storybook Bible. Each week the children will listen and watch a different story from the Bible as they learn about God’s great love for them.
